Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about our services, pricing, and our commitment to sustainability.
1. How do you calculate the price of a clearance?
We provide a fixed-price quote based on the volume of items to be removed and the labor required. However, unlike many competitors, we offer a "Second Life Credit." If you have quality items that are suitable for resale, we factor their value into the quote, effectively reducing your total cost. This makes us the best "bang for your buck" service in Surrey and London.
2. Do I need to be present during the clearance?
Not necessarily! As long as we have access to the property (via a neighbor, estate agent, or key safe), we can carry out the work and send you photo/video updates upon completion. Many of our probate clients find this particularly helpful during a difficult time.
3. What happens to the items you collect?
We live by our Second Life Guarantee.
-
Donate: We work closely with our charity partner, Princess Alice Hospice.
-
Resell: High-value items are cleaned (we even wash the linens!) and rehomed.
-
Recycle: Items beyond repair are taken to professional recycling centers. We only use "the tip" as a last resort for non-recyclable waste.
4. Do you take "rubbish" or just good quality furniture?
We take everything. From bags of old clothes and kitchen utensils to heavy wardrobes and garden debris. Don't worry about sorting it yourself. Our team will categorize everything on-site to ensure it goes to the right place.
5. Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Entire House Clearance is a fully licensed waste carrier and we carry comprehensive public liability insurance. We take our legal and environmental responsibilities very seriously to protect both our clients and the planet.
6. Why is your storage facility an advantage for me?
Because we have a large, dedicated storage space, we aren't forced to dump items quickly to clear our vans. This gives us the time to properly inspect, clean, and find new homes for your belongings. This patience allows us to offer you better rates because we actually extract value from the items we collect.
7. How quickly can you start?
We pride ourselves on being responsive. Once you accept our quote, we can often schedule your clearance within 48 to 72 hours, depending on the size of the job.
8. What areas do you cover?
While we are based in Walton-On-Thames, we cover the entirety of Surrey and Greater London.
